Roll on to Z mount were even a cheapo plastic mount collapsible 24-50 worth £200 beats far more DSLR F2.8 24-70s than it ought to in many ways optically and the Tamron 28-75 RXD Mk1 at a crazy £1000 in a Nikon shell isn`t looking too good .. this isn`t helped by that the Z 24-70 F4 is stellar with better colour, micro contrast , edge
While smaller than the Z9, the Z8 is still a chunky beast which feels like a D850 DSLR. This Z8 is only 3 oz (91g) lighter than the big D850. Nikon's 8- models have often been the most popular Nikon among prosumers for decades, exactly as the N8008, N80, D80, D800, D810 and D850 were in older times.
The 24-70 and 14-30 f4 Z were a strong draw to Z mount for me but ultimately I preferred the Sony & 3rd party primes on E mount, and the 17-28/2.8. I'm curious to see what Nikon will do with their 70-200/4, I hope we start seeing more extending 70-200s like the Tamron 70-180 and the Canon RFs.
The Nikon Z lens is so far ahead that it’s almost comical, particularly at f/2.8 and f/4. The amazing thing about this comparison is that the F-mount 14-24mm f/2.8, by most measures, is an impressively sharp lens. Even a few years ago, its sharpness was considered state-of-the-art for a 14mm zoom. Yet the Z-mount lens is so much sharper. Nikon calls this the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8: NIKKOR: Nikon's brand name for all their lenses. Z: For Nikon's mirrorless cameras. Ƙ52mm: 52mm filter thread. It also has: AF-P: Stepper (Pulse) autofocus motor. Aspherical: Specially curved glass elements for sharper pictures. D: Couples distance information to the 3D Matrix Meter.
You lose one stop with the ZC-1.4x and two stops with the TC-2.0x. So the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S becomes a 98-280mm f4.0 lens on the TC-1.4x and a 140-400mm f5.6 lens on the TC-2.0x. [-] Lens profile: Each Z-Nikkor comes with a lens profile for lateral color aberrations, vignette control, diffraction compensation and distortion control.

Z 50 1.8; Z 85 1.8; Z 24-70 4; Z 105 2.8 macro; I'm now in the market for a longer-range lens, mostly for work situations (music festivals, etc., where I will be shooting from a longer distance). I have the budget for one of the following lenses but am having a hard time deciding: Z 70-200 2.8; Z 100-400 4.5-5.6

The Nikon Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S lens marks the first ā€œseriousā€ telephoto lens in Nikon’s still relatively new full-frame mirrorless system. Although there is also a 24-200mm ā€œsuperzoomā€ lens, this one is more squarely aimed at professionals and high-end enthusiasts thanks to its superior design and maximum wide aperture (f/2.8).

On April 6th and related to my Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 m f/4-6.3 &Z 70-200 f2.8 S user reviews I made some moon shots with both lenses while using the same settings. I first selected the sharpest out of 3 images made with each lens.

Recommendations. The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a bigger, heavier, faster version of last year's 24-70mm f/4 S for Nikon's new full-frame mirrorless cameras. This new Z lens has an electronic diaphragm for quiet operation for shooting video.
